Online Auction April 30-May 6 - Please Support Pinecrest
What is the auction and how does it work?
An auction is an event where property or services are sold to the highest bidder. Items generally begin at prices well below value and rise as high as bidders are willing to pay. This auction, “Celebrate Pinecrest 2017” benefits Pinecrest School in Annandale, VA, serving preschool age 3 through 6th grade and camps throughout the year.
Bid on items donated by small business, corporations, and our own Pinecrest families. For one week, current school families, staff, grandparents, aunts, uncles, godparents, camp families, alumni families, friends, neighbors et al will be able to support Pinecrest School through the convenience of their computers or personal devices. Bidders are encouraged to compete for as many donations as they like and track activity so they always know where their bids stand. Once bidding is closed, winners will be notified to pay for and collect winnings.
Online bidding begins on Sunday, April 30, at 11am ET and will close on Saturday, May 6 at noon (12pm) ET. Items are now available for preview.

Why should I participate? Why should I share this information with family and friends?
Pinecrest School is a non-profit, 501 (c) (3) organization focused on educating and caring for our children in a way that best serves them, not our bottom line. Tuition alone does not cover the cost of operating our school. Money raised in this auction pays for daily operations and maintenance; the more money we raise, the more we can do for our children.
Tell me more about Pinecrest School
Tucked just inside the Beltway in the heart of Annandale, Virginia, Pinecrest School is a vibrant community of students, teachers and parents committed to nurturing curiosity, confidence and a love of learning. Now in our sixth decade, our independent, non-sectarian school serves children from preschool age three through sixth grade. Pinecrest School also offers an exceptionally diverse camp program – Pinecrest Pavilion – to four-year-old preschoolers and rising K-6 students during the summer and winter and spring breaks.
Pinecrest fills a unique niche for families primarily in the Annandale, Falls Church, Springfield and Alexandria communities. Many families seek an affordable, alternative educational option for their children. Pinecrest rises to meet these educational ideals and values, maintaining a student to teacher ratio of 9:1, graduating students who rank in the top quartile of every academic area tested (Stanford 10 achievement test) and go on to top secondary schools in the region, such as The Congressional Schools of Virginia, Trinity School at Meadow View, Bishop O’Connell High School and the prestigious Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology.
Pinecrest maintains full accreditation with AdvancED/Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI). During our most recent five year re-accreditation in November 2013, we received outstanding reviews by the AdvancED external review team: “Observations in the school’s classrooms indicated an impressively high level of engagement and collaboration. Those observations confirmed the school’s commitment to meeting both the educational and emotional needs of its students. Particularly high results were noted in the areas of high expectation environment, supportive learning environment, active learning environment, and well-managed learning environment.”
Pinecrest School was voted Best Private School in 2011 and Best Preschool Program in 2014, 2013 and 2012 by Washington Family Magazine’s “Best for Families Survey.” The school’s summer camp program was awarded Best Summer Day Camp by the same magazine in 2014, 2013 and 2007. In March 2017, Pinecrest Pavilion at Pinecrest School was recognized as a Best Summer Camp by Northern Virginia Magazine.
