General Information

Pinecrest School is an independent preschool through sixth grade community of learners located inside the Beltway in Northern Virginia. Small classes, high expectations, a nurturing environment and engaging faculty make the Pinecrest experience one-of-a-kind.

The school offers half-day preschool and full-day K-6 with before-care beginning at 7:30 a.m. and after-care until 6 p.m. for all students. Pinecrest School is fully-accredited and has a 5-star rating on

Pinecrest Pavilion is the school’s award-winning summer camp program. Creative, theme-based classes are offered on a morning, afternoon or full-day schedule for children age 4 through rising sixth grade. You can view all summer camp information here / registration is currently open.

Pinecrest School is a non-profit corporation (a 501 (c) (3)) owned by parents, faculty and staff who elect from among themselves a Board of Directors to set school policy. Administrative and educational matters are managed by a full-time Head of School.

The Board of Directors has three main areas of responsibility: solvency, growth and accountability. The Board of Directors is responsible for hiring the Head of School or ensuring his or her replacement at times of transition.
